Quickie Chicken

If you don't have time and need a tasty dish,you can try this one out...

Does not involve too many ingredients...and is mouth watering too...No need to add water as onions release lot of water on cooking.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 kg chicken (with bones)
    • 5 big onions coarsely chopped
    • 3 medium tomatoes finely chopped-no purees.
    • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste(small amount of ginger) you may also avoid ginger
    • 2 tbsp cumin seeds ( jeera)
    • 3 tbsp fortune refined oil
    • 1 tbsp black pepper corns
    • 2 tsp garam masala powder
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Wash chicken pieces thoroughly and keep aside.
    2. In a pressure cooker pour the oil and let it heat up.When the oil is hot,add the cumin seeds and black pepper corns and let them crackle.
    3. Now add the chopped onions and let them turn pinkish.Add the ginger garlic paste and stir.Now add the chicken pieces  and stir for a while till the pieces turn whitish.Add salt and stir.
    4. Now add the chopped tomatoes and stir again.cover with a plate and cook on medium flame for 5 mins.
    5. Add the garam masala, stir and cover the cooker lid and cook on low flame for 10-12 mins.Now increase the flam to maximum till the cooker whistles twice.Switch the burner off.When pressure is cooled open the lid.
    6. Serve with rice,rotis or parathas.No need to garnish.

    I tried this recipe and did not like it. It tasted like boiled chicken in onions and tomatoes. No red chilly powder nor turmeric powder. My husband didn't even wanted to taste it because it did not seem appealing to eyes. I would definitely not try this recipe again.

    hey vicky,these are not too many.this is the minimum if you cook any chicken.you may omit any ingredient and see the difference for yourself.
